Two taxi owners were shot and killed at the Nyanga taxi rank

Two taxi owners were shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon at the Nyanga taxi rank.

It’s understood that the duo belonged to the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (Cata), and were exiting Holy Cross Church in Nyanga where the association held a meeting.

The police’s F.C van Wyk said the motive for the attack is unknown at this stage.

‘’Nyanga police are investigating a double murder and an attempted murder case following a shooting incident on Wednesday, 2024-01-17 at about 13:00 at Nyanga taxi rank where two adult males were shot and fatally wounded,’’ said Captain F.C van Wyk.

He added that the suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.
