Limpopo police are on the lookout for a male suspect who allegedly brutally killed his 18 month old baby boy and attempted to kill his wife and mother in law yesterday in Polokwane.

The wife, mother in law
and baby attended a ceremony at their neighbours when the man started to attack
his mother in law who was carrying the baby on her back. The suspect hacked the
elderly woman and the baby twice with the axe. He then proceeded to hack his
wife on the forehead.
The victims were taken
to a nearby hospital, but the baby sadly succumbed to his injuries. Police
opened a case of murder, attempted murder and assault.
The provincial
commissioner of Limpopo police, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe says “situations
like this leave us disappointed, because we address gender based violence and
domestic violence issues on a daily basis”.
