Case postponed for man accussed of killing two security guards in Gugulethu

A 42-year-old man will again appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court, next Thursday, after he is accused of being behind the murder of two security guards in NY108, Gugulethu.

‘’The pair were sitting in their company vehicle when they were approached by unknown gunmen with firearms who opened fire, fatally wounding them,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Western Cape police spokesperson.

Twigg said officers arrested the suspect in in Makhaza, Khayelitsha, on Tuesday, and has since appeared in court on Thursday. The case was postponed until 12 December 2024 for a formal bail application.
