Mitchell’s Plain police are probing a case of murder, after a 23-year-old man was shot and killed in Portland on Tuesday afternoon.
Police confirmed the incident occurred just before 17:00 in
Durban way.
‘’According to reports members received a complain of a
shooting incident at the mentioned address and on arrival found the body of the
deceased in a prone position with multiple wounds to his upper body. He was
declared as deceased by medical personnel,’’ said Captain F.C Van Wyk, Western
Cape police spokesperson.
The motive behind Ashwin Lakay or ‘Osama’ as he was
affectionately known, is believed to be gang related.
