Refuse collection is scheduled to take place as normal on Friday (Good Friday) and all other public holidays. This was the reassurance from the City of Cape Town.
The municipality warned that residents should however be
aware of the possibility of collection delays, due to factors such as holiday
traffic or unplanned absenteeism.
‘’If delays do occur, residents should please take their
bin out each day until it has been emptied, excluding Easter Sunday, 20 April.
Any backlog that may develop should be cleared by the following week’s scheduled
collection day at the latest. If you are affected by refuse collection delays,
recycling and composting can help save space in the bin,’’ said Grant Twigg,
MMC for Urban Waste Management
Twigg said any backlog that may develop should be cleared
by the following week’s scheduled collection day at the latest.
