A 48-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained following an incident in Athlone on Monday afternoon.
The police’s FC van Wyk explained that the man was found in
his vehicle at the corner of Jakes Gerwel Drive and Klipfontein road
‘’Athlone police registered a murder case
following a shooting incident on Monday, 2025-07-28 at about 12:30, where the
body of a 48 year old male was found in his vehicle at the corner Jakes Gerwel
and Klipfontein Athlone. According to reports SAPS members received a
complainant of shooting incident at Blossom Road, Athlone, and on their arrival
they were informed that the victim was shot and he got into in his vehicle and
left. A few minutes later they were informed that the victim vehicle was found
at the mentioned address. The victim was found inside the vehicle and was
declare deceased by medical personnel.’’
