The City of Cape Town has launched an investigation after a MyCiti bus caught alight on the M5 northbound on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred just before 10a.m
‘’The bus driver stopped the bus due to an overheating
engine, passengers were asked to disembark and were picked up by the following
bus. The stationary bus then suddenly caught fire. An investigation is
currently underway on the cause of this fire and there were no injuries,’’ said
Andrew Harris, the City of Cape Town’s Manager of Integrated Rapid Transit
Program Delivery.
