Mitchell’s Plain police are investigating a double murder that occurred in Portland, on Thursday evening. A man in his 40s was fatally shot in Golden Gate street, whilst a 24-year-old woman later succumbed to injuries in hospital.

‘’According to reports SAPS members on duty attended to a
complaint of shooting at the mentioned address and on arrival they found an
unidentified male laying with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. He was
declared deceased by the ambulance personnel. Circumstances surrounding this
incident are under investigation. The motive forms part of continued
investigation and the suspects are yet to be arrested,’’ said Captain F.C Van
Wyk, Western Cape police spokesperson.
