Father fatally shot in Belhar after dropping his kids

A father was fatally shot in Belhar on Wednesday morning.

Police confirmed that the 35-year-old man dropped off his children at the Logos Assembly of God Church’s ECD Centre, when he was approached by an unknown suspect who shot him before fleeing the scene.

‘’Belhar police responded to a complaint of a shooting in Drake Street, Belhar… at about 07:50. Upon arrival on the scene they found a 35 year old male who sustained gunshot wounds to his head and body. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel… The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Western Cape police spokesperson.

Belhar police are investigating a murder case.
