An eleven-year-old girl was fatally shot and two others were left injured following an incident in Kraaifontein on Tuesday night.
PixabayPolice said the trio were playing outside when an
unidentified suspect approached and started to shoot in the street. All three
victims were wounded by stray bullets.
‘’Kraaifontein police registered a case of murder and two
counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident on Tuesday, 2025-08-19
at about 19:20 at a premises in Mti Street, Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, where a
11 year female was shot and fatally wounded and a eight year old female and 20
year old male injured,’’ said Captain F.C Van Wyk, Western Cape police spokesperson.
‘’The 11 year old female victim was declared deceased on
the scene by medical personnel. Both the injured victims were taken to a nearby
hospital for medical treatment. The motive for this incident is believed to be
gang related. The suspect fled the scene
and are yet to be arrested,’’ he added.
