Police in Muizenberg continue their investigations into the shooting incident that occurred on Saturday evening, where a body was discovered in the Overcome Heights informal settlement.
The victim was declared dead after unknown suspects allegedly fired shots in the victim's direction.
Another person was shot and was rushed to a nearby facility.
Police spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, said the motive for the attack was yet to be determined and the suspects were yet to be arrested. "Muizenberg police registered murder and attempted murder cases for investigation following a shooting incident on Saturday, at about 19:30, in Rasta Street, Overcome Heights, in which an adult male was shot and fatally wounded and another wounded."
The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation following
the discovery of three bodies, one man and two women, aged between 29 and 32,
at Mike Place, Xakabantu in Muizenberg on Saturday night at around 23:30. A
fourth victim, a male, survived after sustaining a gunshot wound and managed to
escape.
‘’The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and detectives are pursuing all
available leads to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. In the
meantime, policing in the area has been intensified to prevent any further
violence,’’ said Colonel Andrè Traut, Western Cape police spokesperson.
