Westgate shooting claims 2 lives within 48hrs.

A 31-year-old man was killed and three others wounded, following a shooting incident in Oscar Street, Westgate in Mitchell’s Plain, on Friday afternoon

Police confirmed that two males aged 17 and 38 and a 58-year-old woman were taken to hospital for medical treatment.

‘’According to reports, SAPS members received a complaint of shooting at the mentioned address and on arrival found the body of a male with a gunshot wound to his eye laying on the floor and three other victims who sustained gunshot wounds. The suspect fled the scene in a silver Honda Ballade. The victim was declared deceased at the scene by the medical personnel. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation,’’ said Captain F.C Van Wyk, Western Cape police spokesperson.

On Thursday, a 40-year-old man was shot and fatally wounded and another injured at the same location. Police said the motive is believed to be gang related and that no arrests has been made

‘’According to reports members received a complaint of a shooting incident and upon arrival members found a white VW Polo, with the body of one occupant (a male deceased) who sustained multiple gunshots and another injured. The victim was declared deceased by medical personnel and the injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment,’’ said Van Wyk.
