The Cape Flats Safety Forum wants Western Cape Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile to hang up his hat after he claimed that there were “not much” shootings in Mitchell’s Plain last week, despite ten fatalities and seven attempted murders.
The latest incident occurred on Wednesday morning, where a
36-year-old man was shot and fatally wounded.
‘’The circumstances surrounding a shooting incident… at
about 11:10, in Samantha Street, Montrose Park, are under investigation.
Police members attended to the crime scene where they found the victim
with a gunshot wound to his head. The victim was declared deceased on the scene
by medical personnel. The motive for the
attack is believed to be gang related.
The suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.,’’ said Sergeant
Wesley Twigg, Western Cape police spokesperson.
Hours prior, a double murder was reported near the
Lentegeur Railway station.
‘’Lentegeur SAPS registered two counts of murder after
