A number of shooting incidents has been reported in the past 24 hours.
A 34-year-old man was
shot and wounded in Tafelsig, Mitchell’s Plain. Police confirmed the incident occurred
in Platteklip Street.
‘’Mitchell's Plain
police registered an attempted murder case for investigation following a
shooting incident on Friday, 24 October 2025, at about 13:50, in Platteklip
Street, Tafelsig, in which a 34-year-old male was shot and wounded. The victim
sustained a gunshot wound to his stomach and was taken to a medical facility
for medical treatment. The suspect(s)
fled the scene and are yet to be arrested,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg,
Western Cape police spokesperson.
In Steenberg, a
53-year-old man was shot and killed, and two others were left injured inside
their home. According to police, unknown assailants entered the premises,
opened fire on the victims and fled the scene.
“Steenberg police
responded to a complaint of a shooting on Friday evening, 24 October 2025, in Grens Way, at about 19:20, and upon
arrival on the scene, they found the body of a 53-year-old male inside the
bedroom with gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was declared deceased on
the scene by medical personnel. A 51-year-old female and a 18 year old male who
also sustained gunshot wounds were transported to a medical facility for
treatment…The motive for the attack is yet to be determined. Steenberg
detectives are investigating a murder and two counts of attempted murder cases,’’
said Twigg.
Meanwhile, two men were
shot and wounded in Primrose Park on Friday night. The incident occurred at a
petrol station.
‘’Manenberg police
registered two counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident at about 20:50, at a petrol station in Ruimte Road, Primrose Park, where two adult
males were shot and wounded. The victims were transported to a medical facility
for treatment,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Western Cape police spokesperson.
No arrests have been
made as yet for any of the above incidents, and police are probing the motive
for the attacks are yet to be determined.
