Ward councillor, Angus McKenzie, says he’s deeply disturbed and angered by this incident. According to McKenzie, the person who stabbed the woman, was her husband.

‘’ The suspect is her husband, who is currently on the run. At this stage, I cannot release the names of either the victim or the perpetrator. What I can assure the community is this, every single law enforcement and SAPS officer in the Bonteheuwel area is actively on the lookout for him. There will be no hiding. He will be found, he will be arrested, and he will be charged.’’

Let me be absolutely clear gender based violence has no place in Bonteheuwel. It will never be normalised, excused, or tolerated in our community. Not today. Not ever,’’ he added.
