Domestic violence dominates news

Domestic violence continues to dominate the news after another policeman takes his own life after killing his live-in girlfriend. Police confirmed that a young constable shot his girlfriend, also a constable, in Highlands north of Johannesburg. The incident comes two days after a senior police officer went on a rampage, shooting eight people, including four policemen, before being shot dead himself in a shootout with police.
Meanwhile, Roodepoort residents are still shocked by the news that a mother and her two sons were found brutally murdered in their flat. Their bodies were found hanging from door frames. Police found the doors to the flat open and the security gate broken when they arrived on the scene this morning. Apparently, neighbours heard noises during the night but could give no further information about the killings. The names of the victims have not yet been released.
