The African National Congress has warned that civil servants found misappropriated public money will be dealt with.

This is followed by findings of the auditor-general that civil servants obtained more than half a billion rands in government tenders that were irregularly awarded to their spouses and relatives.

According to a leading newspaper, about two thousand civil servants were involved in tender rigging and corruption.

ANC spokesperson Jessie Duarte said the civil service commission must act legally where evidence is found and the necessary legal enquiries must be instituted.

The Democratic Alliance and the Independent Democrats also slammed corrupt civil servants
