Afriforum has responded to the reports that more South Africans who currently lived in exile are returning home.
Afriforum said that its Come Home campaign played a big role in bringing back emigrants.
Alana Bailey who is the Deputy CEO of Afriforum said, this is a golden opportunity for South Africa, as the returning of the emigrants will fill up the gap of skills shortages.
According to Bailey, the return may be caused by the economic situation of those countries.
Bailey added that the government needs to address issues that drove these people to emigration like “crime and the general downfall of the state.”
She added that much more border control is also needed so that the number of jobs these people will create, will stimulate the economy and in return ensure that their jobs will not to be taken by illegal immigrants.
