African National Congress’ Youth League leader Julius Malema has appealed to the white youths to take a bigger part in the League’s social and political activities.

Speaking in Cape Town, Malema said they want all white youths to begin to value and cherish the values of the Constitution and participate actively in the political and social life of the country.

Malema was asked by the SA Union of Jewish Students to address the question of whether the current institutions provide a sufficient platform for active citizenship.

Malema said South Africa has the best democracy supporting institutions, but that very few white youth attend and participate in activities that celebrate national holidays such as Freedom Day, Human Rights Day and Youth Day.
