The Congress of the People has called on State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele to resign.

This is after Sheryl Cwele, was yesterday found guilty in the Pietermaritzburg High Court of charges relating to drug trafficking.

Cope spokesperson Phillip Dexter says the ruling against Cwele’s wife is a serious reflection against the ruling party.

Dexter added that the Minister of Intelligence should know what is going on in the country.
