A British court has heard today that murder accused Bristol businessman Shrien Dewani wanted to find a way out of his marriage without being disowned by his family.
This is according to lawyer Hugo Keith, who is representing South African authorities in the case.
Dewani stands accused of orchestrating the murder of his wife, Anni, in a hijacking in Cape Town last year.
His extradition hearing started in the Belmarsh Magistrate’s Court in London yesterday.
It is expected to be adjourned while experts put together a psychiatric evaluation on Dewani.
