Fedusa wins a second court case

The Federation of Unions of South Africa has won a second court case against the Department of Higher Education and Training.

The Labour Court ruled that placing the Services Sector and Education and Training Authority under administration was invalid.

On Friday the ruling comes on the back of a previous judgement which ruled that the recent actions of Minister Blade Nzimande to appoint a new constitution and council for the Seta were unlawful.

Fedusa says it fully supports transformation. But the agenda for the process cannot run over existing legislation.
