The World Economic Forum meeting in Cape Town has heard that too few women in Africa have top management positions.
This applies to both the private sector and government.
The meeting is being attended by more than 900 high-level participants from 60 countries.
WEF lead economist Jennifer Blanke told the meeting, that too many women work in the low end of the job market.
Blanke added that women can add value to companies as when they do run them, they run them just as well as men.
