Thanks to a tip-off, two of South Africa's most wanted criminals were arrested in Orange Grove, Johannesburg, last night.
A Zimbabwean was shot dead in the raid after he allegedly opened fire on the police.
Hawks spokesperson McIntosh Polela says 37-year-old Khumbulani Sibanda and an alleged accomplice, known as “Ogies”, was last week named as two of the country's most dangerous criminals.
They had been sought in connection with murder, a spate of bank robberies and cash-in-transit heists.
The name has not yet been released of the man who was killed.
