The Democratic Alliance has questioned if the Human Rights Commission is as independent as it claims to be.

This after it was revealed that the Commission has been sitting on a report about 1 600 open toilets constructed by the ANC in Viljoenskroon in the Free State.

DA spokesperson Lindiwe Mazibuko asked why the HRC released a report on open toilets in Cape Town within three-months, but has been sitting on a similar report from the Moqhaka municipality for more than seven months.
