DA calls on for a review of the e-tolling system

The Democratic Alliance has called for a review of the e-tolling system by the Transport Portfolio Committee. 

The party has also welcomed Gauteng Premier David Makhura’s announcement that he would establish a panel to review the E-toll system. 

DA Parliamentary Leader Mmusi Maimane said the E-toll system is an economic burden that is putting further pressure on the strained finances of South Africans. 

“Parliament must be at the forefront of that parliament must have a review of the economic impact of E-tolling that in fact we must ensure if the system is not workable that we explore other alternatives.” Maimane
