Man sentenced to life imprisonment for raping 10 year old girl

The Pietermaritzburg Regional Court has convicted and sentenced a 39-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping a 10-year-old girl in Inchanga. 

Captain Thulani Zwane said the suspect is the uncle of the girl and it is believed that he raped her in a toilet close to her home. 

Zwane said it is alleged that the child was at home in the Inchanga area when she was approached by this man.The man called the child to the toilet where he raped the child.

“A case was then opened and after the investigation the suspect was then arrested and charged with rape Zwane added.
