Suspect in Alberton road rage case arrested
A 36-year-old Northcliff man handed himself over to police on Friday following a road rage incident in Alberton in which an 82-year-old motorist was severely beaten up. Gauteng police spokesperson Andy Pieke says the suspect faces a charge of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm. He was granted a thousand rands bail and is scheduled to appear in the Alberton Magistrate's Court on Monday. The victim, 82-year-old Joe Duffy was assaulted on Sunday after he was involved in an accident. His nose, jaw and cheekbones were broken and his jaw was cracked and he has been undergoing surgery.
