# Eight talented teen vocalists across the Cape Peninsula will perform at the St Cyprian Idol finals competition at St Cyprian’s School, Gorge road, Oranjezicht, at 18:00 on Saturday, 3 November. Tickets for adults cost R30 and children R20. Phone (021) 461-1090.

#The Disabled Children’s Action Group will host a stage show called Daa is Mos Reality to raise funds for children with disabilities on Friday November the 9th at 8PM. The show will take place at the Westridge civic centre. Tickets cost R60. For details call Sandra Ambrose on 021 797 5977.

# The I Care Children’s Foundation challenges all families, community members, businesses, and clubs to come forward and donate a Samaritan Box for an underprivileged child. The boxes should contain toiletries, school stationery, sweets and toys. The closing date for these boxes is 14 December 2007 The handing over of the boxes will take place at their annual Children’s Day event on the 15th of December 2007. # There will be a mass meeting held by trade unions SACP, NEHAWU AND Denosa on the 1st of November from 12pm till 2pm at the Protea Hall, Tygerberg Hospital. This meeting is an initiative of the Red October Campaign.

#Cape Town Child Welfare is seeking people under the age of 45 to become adoptive parents or emergency parents. Any stay at home mothers with slightly older children of their own should consider this as a way to contribute to a baby’s life. For more information contact Anne Bruce on 021 790 2300
