Woman stabbed to death in her apartment

On Saturday morning the body of 27-year-old Andiswa Mpumza was found by police and family members in her flat on the corner of Gie and Main Road in Parklands, Table View, where she lived alone.

“The deceased was found partially clothed on the bedroom floor and had several stab wounds to her neck. There was no sign of force entry into the apartment,” says Inspector Bernadine Steyn.
She says that the motive for the incident appears to be robbery. Two cellular phones, a TV-decoder, a DVD-player and a set of keys are missing from the apartment.

“She was last seen alive by family members on Wednesday (9 January 2008). They became concerned when she did not pitch for work on Thursday and Friday. They therefore requested police to assist them to open the apartment door,” she explains.

Steyn says that at this stage nobody has been arrested or any suspects identified. A case of murder has been opened for investigation.

Anyone with information can contact the Table View police on 021 521 3300 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

May she rest in peace, she's in a better place now. She was a diamond in a rough, May the Lord be with the family and friends during this hard time.
