In Groot-brak River police has opened an Inquest docket for investigation following the drowning of an unknown man between the ages 35 and 45, last night.
Captain Malcolm Pojie says according to witnesses on the beach at Glentana, the man who was swimming alone, all by himself, got into trouble at about 18:20, ten minutes after he entered the water.
They immediately alerted the lifeguards whom went into the water to help the man. The lifeguards were assisted by Metro emergency when they reached the scene, however they could not save the man.
