A strike by the Motor Transport Workers’ Union has come an end, a union spokeswoman told reporters.
Fedusa secretary general Dennis George said the union came to an agreement with management representatives from the Road Freight Bargaining Council last night.
The union had demanded a 12% increase but agreed to settle for an 11% across the board raise.
“The cash-in-transit guards will hopefully return to work before the close of business today”
George said this would bring the industry back to normalization so that they can ensure there will be money in the banks and ATMs.
