A 23 year old woman was arrested for neglecting her 5-month old baby on Thursday evening.
Police spokesperson Captain Elliot Sinyangana said the baby was brought to the police station by an eleven old girl.
It is alleged that the mother of the child left the child in the morning yesterday. The young girl began panicking because the mother was not coming back and she had to go and do her studies.
The police conducted social Workers who came and inspected the situation of the child which turned out to be very bad.
She was found a the following day and arrested .
The mother appeared in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court
