South African government addresses aftermath of Sri Lankan war

The Sri Lankan governments war with Tamil Tiger rebels, that lasted more than two decades, has finally come to an end leaving nearly 300 000 civilians displaced.
Deputy International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ebrahim Ebrahim said that government hopes the end of the military campaign will result in a peaceful dialogue, where all minorities can address their long standing grievances.
“We will continue to support any efforts aimed at bringing about peace and reconciliation between the parties,” said Deputy Minister Ebrahim.
