Swift action was taken by two Metro Police officers, following the arrest of two suspects on Vangaurd Drive. The officers were patrolling the area when two men informed them of people loading stolen goods onto a vehicle at a nearby bush.

The officers were led to the scene, and on arrival it was discovered that the suspects had already loaded seven bags onto the vehicle. The bags were filled with cabbages.

After questioning the suspects, the officers were led to 80 more bags of stolen cabbages and carrots.

Further investigation established which farm the vegetables had been stolen from, and the farmer confirmed that the produce belonged to him.

The suspects have been charged with theft.
