Almost a month since baby BZ Ncumani was abducted from Tygerberg hospital, police have still not made any breakthrough in their search for the boy.
Police are now turning to the public for help with their investigation.
“We appeal to the community to be on the lookout and report to police about people who suspiciously have a newly born baby or who know of people planning to travel abroad with a suspicious newly born baby boy in their possession,” said Inspector Godfrey Tawana.
Police also appeal to all health institutions to be on the look out for any person bringing newly born babies for treatment without any clinic card, as of 24 July 2009 to date, or without any hospital reference.
“This information is important and has reference to the abducted infant at Tygerberg hospital,” added Tawana.
The baby was snatched from ward J2 in Tygeberg hospital on the 24 of July this year during a visiting hour at night, while her mother Zimkhitha from Delft was in a coma.
Anyone that can help to find the one-month old baby boy can contact Inspector Kotze at 082 559 4656 or Inspector August at 082 522 1095.
