President Jacob Zuma is expected to urge Zimbabwe's Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and President Robert Mugabe to resume talks on issues threatening that country's fragile unity government.
According to reports Zuma is likely to urge them to resolve the issues cited by Tsvangirai when he announced on Friday that the MDC would disengage from the cabinet.
Officials within the South African Presidency say that while Zuma will be firm, a public rejection of Zanu-PF was unlikely.
The Department of International Co-operation's spokesperson Nomfanelo Kota says the South African government is very concerned about the latest developments in Zimbabwe.
