Khayelitsha police have urged residents of the area not to purchase medication from unauthorized persons following a burglary at a surgery at the weekend.
“Police appeal to the community not to purchase any of the medicine from any individual trying to sell it privately, as it can be harmful if not prescribed or issued by a medical practitioner,”said Constable Mthokozisi Gama.
It is believed that the suspects gained access to the surgery through a window and made off with medication and items worth R46 000.
Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the investigation officer, Detective Constable Byron Mavusa at Khayelitsha Detective Services, on 079 880 9864 or 021 360 2388 during office hours.
