Two police constables will appear in court tomorrow on charges of theft after they allegedly stole cigarettes to the value of R3 500 and R 1 000 cash from two Somali owned stores in Du Noon last night.
The shop owners reported the incidents at the Milnerton police station.
Superintendant Billy Jones says the cigarettes were seized at the members home in Mitchells Plain. The cash has not been recovered yet.
“The members were on duty at the time of the incident. No firearms were used during the alleged incident,” said Jones.
The two will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
