Mitchell’s Plain police are seeking the assistance of the public in tracing an alleged fraudster, Russell Daniels.
It is alleged Daniels pretended to be a building contractor when he approached the complainant with tenders last year.
Police’s Inspector Ian Williams says he indicated that he needed R3 350.00 for the manufacturing of permit cards and further administrative processes.
Williams says a few days later the suspect again requested a further R1 700.00 for purchases.
“When the complainant enquired about the contracts, the suspect shortly thereafter disappeared,” said Williams.
The 36 year old suspect’s last known address was Monsoon Street, Rocklands in Mitchell’s Plain.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect can contact detective Constable Ashley Davids of Mitchell’s Plain police on 021 370 1706 or 021 370 2811.
