Congress of the People Western Cape chair, Mbulelo Ncedana
says they remain a party divided as Mosiuoa Lekota uses the courts to cling to power.
Ncedana says Cope was founded on democratic processes adding that no court can hold down an elective congress forever.
Ncedana’s comments come after yesterday’s judgement in the south Gauteng High Court that overturned a vote of no confidence against Lekota at a recently-held Cope national congress.
Judge Rami Mathopo said the vote was an ambush and showed flagrant disregard against the rules of natural justice.
