Four cars collided on the N2 north bound carriageway near the Spaghetti four-level-interchange this afternoon leaving two people injured.

The vehicle is believed to have swerved to avoid a truck that had broken down on the national freeway. As the man veered to avoid slamming into the truck he struck three other cars.

When Netcare911 Advanced Life Support Paramedic Garrith Jamieson arrived at the scene he found wrecked vehicles blocking most of the four lane carriageway.

The injured occupants of the vehicles were treated and stabilised at the scene before they were transported by ambulance to Durban hospitals for the care that they required.

Traffic was badly affected by the smash.
