Cape Town City Disaster Management reported today two hundred shacks were saturated and at least 500 residents were affected by heavy rains in Cape Town but there was no flooding.
Tthe Informal settlements in Kanana, Gugulethu and the Cape Flats were waterlogged after the heavy rains hit the area yesterday.
He said the problem was that people had dumped rubbish in storm-water drains. Disaster management cleared the drainage system and residents are back in their shacks today.
While no more rain is expected in Cape Town, there had been snowfalls on the Matroosberg Mountains in the Boland and cold weather is expected
