A man in Khayelitsha has been arrested for being possession of R150.000 worth of abalone.
The suspect who has been reported as a 45 year old man was chased by police flying squad on Friday.
Police officer Anneke van der Vyver has been quoted as saying “near the Khayelitsha taxi rank the suspect jumped out of his vehicle and the police gave chase on foot.
Police members then searched the vehicle and found bags of abalone stuffed inside the trunk of the vehicle”.
The suspects have been arrested and will appear in court on Monday.
