Police need assistance from the community

Muizenberg police are asking the assistance of the public in a housebreak and sexual assault case.

A resident of Muizenberg was returning home after walking her dogs when she was confronted by an armed suspect.

It has been reported that the suspect forced the young women to open the front door and proceeded to tie the complainant in the main bedroom, where he performed explicit sexual act and then fled the scene.

The Muizenberg resident was found by her house-mate where the police were called to the scene.

The victim has been provided with trauma counselling by the Victim Support Co-ordinator at Muizenberg SAPS.

Police are now seeking help from community members to look for the suspect.

The suspect has been described as an average built white male in his early thirties. At the time of the incident he was wearing a blue denim jean, a black top, black shoes and black gloves.
