The Basic Education Department has rejected demands by the Congress of South African Students for increase to final examination marks.
Cosas asked for a free 25% added to students’ marks after the public service strike.
Government met with the student body over the weekend to discuss the exam recovery plan.
This follows days of violent student protests over matric preliminary exams in the wake of a three-week-long public servants strike.
Department spokesperson, Hope Mogatle said there was no way students could get free marks, instead they must just sit and write their examinations.
