The Johannesburg Metro Police has opened a case against social networking site Twitter member PigSpotter for tipping off motorists about roadblocks and speed traps on the site.
“The charges include crimen injuria, defeating the ends of justice and defamation of character,” said Johannesburg Metro Police's Wayne Minnaar.
The man was informing motorists about roadblocks around Johannesburg up until Wednesday this past week.
In his tweets he refers to metro police officials as "pigs" and "porkers".
