A 26-year-old man who was arrested yesterday in connection with the attack on Anni Dewani and her husband Shrien from Britain has been charged.

The man has now been charged with hijacking and murder.

The preliminary post-mortem report has been released and it states that the 28-year-old passed away as a result of a bullet wound sustained to the neck.

Last night the father of Anni Dewani told journalists in the United Kingdom that his daughter had not been sexually molested before she was shot three times.

Police’s Frederick van Wyk said the suspect is scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
