The 28-year-old man who is being called a serial rapist, because of allegedly raping 12 women since August, will be appearing in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court today.
The man was arrested on Friday outside Durban in KwaZulu-Natal.
The Durban central dog unit and the Durban organised crime unit assisted Gauteng police in following the man's trail since he fled his home in southern Johannesburg just before police raided it on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson Colonel Vishnu Naidoo said "The South African Police Service, in particular the task team would also like to express its gratitude to all the callers that have assisted the efforts of the team to track down this alleged perpetrator".
