The ministers of Police and Justice have assured President Jacob Zuma that their departments are not undertaking an investigation into the actions of Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.
A newspaper claimed last week that it had proof that Madonsela was being investigated for corruption and that her arrest was imminent.
In a statement following the ministers’ assurance, Zuma once again reaffirms government support for independent Chapter 9 institutions that are subject only to the Constitution and the law.
